2. What Will You Actually Do? (The Daily Work)
If you are selected, you will be working at the main headquarters of IBPS in Mumbai. Here is a simple breakdown of what your daily life will look like based on the post you apply for:
Role 1: Banker Faculty (Technical & General)
Your main job is to be the brain behind the bank exams. You will sit in a secure, confidential environment and write, source, and review the multiple-choice questions that millions of students will answer during their IBPS PO, Clerk, or Specialist Officer exams. If you are applying for the Technical post, you will design questions about Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, IT, or Engineering. If you are applying for the General post, you will create questions on Banking Knowledge and Financial Awareness.
Role 2: Executive Secretary to Director
You will be the right hand to the Director of IBPS. Your job is to manage their calendar, coordinate high-level meetings with the Governing Board (which includes top people from the Reserve Bank of India and other major banks), and handle highly confidential files. You will act as the bridge between the Director and the rest of the staff.
3. Selection Process & Exam Pattern
Here is the best news about this recruitment: There is NO written examination. You do not have to sit in a hall and give a Computer Based Test (CBT). Because these are highly senior, specialized roles, IBPS uses a direct interview method.
| Stage | Exam Type | Syllabus / Focus Area | Marks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | Application Scrutiny | Officials will read your uploaded resume and experience letters. Only the best-matching candidates will be shortlisted. | Qualifying |
| Tier 2 | Personal Interview | Questions about your past banking/administrative experience, your ability to write exam questions, and your MS Office skills. | Decided by Panel |
| Tier 3 | Document & Medical Verification | Verifying original discharge letters from previous banks and a medical fitness certificate from a Civil Surgeon. | Qualifying |
How to Prepare for the Interview:
- → Show Your Computer Skills: IBPS specifically asks for MS Office proficiency. Be ready to explain how you used Excel or PowerPoint in your previous banking job.
- → Bring Proof of Content Writing: If you ever helped create training manuals, promotional exams, or question papers in your previous bank, bring proof! This is highly preferred by the selection committee.
4. Eligibility Rules: Can You Apply?
The rules to apply are very strict because the Institute needs highly experienced people.
